Balmain Acoustica Festival  - Sunday 24 April
 
 
Join some of the biggest names in the Australian Acoustic music scene at
the very first Acoustica festival held in Balmain's Birchgrove oval on
Sunday April 24, 2005. (Anzac Day long weekend).
 
Pack your hamper, bring a picnic rug and settle in to enjoy one of the
most exciting musical events to ever hit the peninsula.. A FREE day long
concert with carnival rides, jugglers, fire-eaters, brass bands, raffles
and a spectacular line-up that reads like a 'who's who 'of the
Australian Blues, Roots and Folk scene of the last 30 years.
Headlining the festival are popular blues trio the Backsliders (Dom
Turner, Jim Conway and Rob Hirst), who will end the festival with a bang
when they let loose with their own unique style 'delta blues wall of
sound'.
Jim Conway and his band Big Wheel, Mic Conway's National Junk Band,
Monsieur Camembert, Dave Tice and the internationally renowned U.S.
performer, Kristina Olsen will also appear as part of Acoustica's
inaugural line-up.

HOW TO GET THERE:  Birchgrove Oval overlooks Snail Bay & is next to
Grove Street, Birchgrove.  The 441 & 432 buses travel from the city to
Grove Street & ferries from Circular Quay travel to Snail Bay Wharf.
